With Target Canada looking to speed up its exit from the cruel White North and be gone by mid-April, the hustle-sell-repeat cycle is in full effect.
Global News reported the company has just finished the sale of tens of thousands of shopping carts and nearly a million plastic bags (insert American Beauty reference here) to its parent company Target Corp. for $2.22 million USD - which should help to cover at least some of that $1.9 billion debt load.
Ah, but that's not all! The sale of its branded bags and carts to a parent company that just so happens to have the exact same name, logo, and visual brand could help the company save an extra $1.9 million to help stave off some of those bill collectors.
The beginning of the end
Target has announced closures all across the country right up to April 8 so far, with 118 of its 133 total stores in Canada either already closed or having already been given a set date to close.
At last - a mark it can't miss.
