Why Gisele Bundchen is retiring early

March 19th, 2015 by

The supermodel is cashing in (but likely not cashing out entirely)

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is walking (strutting?) away from the catwalk in style.

Yahoo reports that after 20 years of circling the globe's fashion runways - and being the titleholder of highest paid runway model for the past 8 of those years - the 34-year-old is leaving the model life behind.

And a model life it's been. She's made herself into a household name with her trademark runway walk, numerous spokesperson positions, campaigns, fashion partnerships, and has somehow still found the time to raise a family of two children with husband Tom Brady, quarterback of the New England Patriots.

From runway to retirement

"Gisele will focus on special projects and also spending more time on her number one priority: her family," Gisele's sister (and official representative) said in a statement.

A note to all future emerging supermodels: Looks like you'll have big shoes to fill (literally - have you seen the size she wears?!)
